@kevinlyonsfougere I find that getting the timing right and some feel into the play is very hard when improvising when being all still and not expressing the rhythm. I've looked a good bit of live acts and improvisations and you can tell if it's some carefully practised and memorized thing. I've seen one tutorial video here which suggests that the best technique to learn those millisecond critical timings (jazz/funk etc) is to use mouth to "spell" in time first before trying to play on fingers.
