Jackson County Farm Bureau's Project RED (Rural Education Day) is a great opportunity for third graders to learn first-hand about agriculture from those who live it everyday. We have hosted the half-day field trip each spring for over a decade. Students rotate through different stations learning about how animals are raised and the products they provide us, also we touch on the variety of crops grown here in Jackson County. This video features volunteers telling why they think teachers should bring their classrooms. Many counties in Michigan host similar Project RED's we suggest you contact your local County Farm Bureau office to sign-up!
