Ingeborg Bronsart von Schellendorf, born Ingeborg Lena Starck. Born 24 August 1840 in Saint Petersburg, died 17 June 1913 in München was a Swedish-German composer.

Valse-Caprice (1874)

Rosario Marciano, piano

Ingeborg Bronsart von Schellendorf was the daughter of Margareta Åkerman and Otto Starck. At the time of her birth, her parents were living in Russia, where here father was involved in trade. Ingeborg Starck studied piano with Nicolas von Martinoff and Adolf Henselt and composition with Constantin Decker. She completed her studies in Weimar with Franz Liszt. In Weimar she met and subsequently married Hans Bronsart von Schellendorff, another member of Liszt's circle, in 1861.

Ingeborg Bronsart von Schellendorf toured Europe as a concert pianist until 1867, when her husband took up an appointment as general manager of the royal theatre theatre in Hanover. She remained active, however, as a composer. Much of her output consists of songs. Her most popular pieces were the Kaiser-Wilhelm-Marsch (1871), the Singspiel Jery und Bätely (1873) and the opera Hiarne (1891).
