These are tiny little worms found in my outdoor filter's drip plate. They have not really caused much harm to my fishes/pond; just the sight of it gives me goose bumps ;p I was just wondering if anyone knows what they are.

  • Just using an overhead filter. You can google "Dolphin Overhead Filter", it will give you a better picture on how the filter looks like.

  • hello from greece :), i wonder what kinde of pond filtyer do you have, cos it looks very good for growing fresh fish food?

    thanks.

  • They are good for your pond and for your fish... very healthy :3 but look terrible

  • they look like leeches put one on your finger and see if it sucks your blood

  • i opened my pond filter and i had tons of these in it too along with mosquito lavae - but i cand find out what they are -- maybe gnat lavae - or crane fly lavae as i've had quite a few in the house and oscar my venus fly trap loves 'em

  • Not blood worms I think, blood worms being larva for a fly like creature.

Probably just some sort of round worm, should be completely harmless and in fact beneficial for the pond.

  • Might be blood worms
