A very basic look at the chromatic harmonica in 3rd position for blues. Some tricks including tounge blocking octaves and fifth and more.

  • Jason,

    My chromatic goes 1234123456789,10,11,12.

Should I just ignore the bottom 4 holes while trying to get used to this?

  • No way play them too! Have fun and just go crazy with it till you get use to it!

    Thanks!

    J

  • closet chromatic player, my ass! Your awesome! You need to bring that out for your shows!! keep it up! come to salt lake

  • I'm Scared! Got a date though in Salt Lake coming up at the sun and moon...

  • That melody you play @ 7:15 is hip and the line you play @ 8:00 is even hipper! As soon as I get some practice time in I'm gonna steal it.

Nice vacuum too. I prefer a canister vacuum though.

  • I love the way you play chromatic Ryan. You should of so made this video. But thanks man thats cool you liked that tune! Hope to hang again soon been a while!

  • Jason. Sensational sound. I have no knowledge of chromatics and play only diatonics so enjoyed hearing what a chromatic can do.

How would the Marine Band 364 Soloist compare to the chromatic you are playing? Would it have the same functionality, excluding the notes accessible via the button?

How would this sound with a bunch of draw notes?

  • This video gave me the last push to buy my first chromatic :)

    Thank you Jason,

    Stevie

THe way you have fun playing is just... Golden.

  • you should stick to the diatonic

  • Thank You very much, this is a great video if you could do more on the Chromatic that would be awesome. There's not to much beginner stuff to help out with like a Paul Delay style or good tip's on how to add the flavor like you added to the blues scale.

  • thanks for sharing another good video ...
