  • actually the responses to it were pretty awesome. i drive an srt-4 daily and im currently rebuilding this car. its now a 2.4 swap and its either getting a gt35r or 50 trim slapped on it, full built. look for 11 second passes on slicks, street legal. :)

  • I don't think i've ever heard a SOHC sound like that, is it possible?

Awesome engine man, is it a 2dr or 4dr, i have a 96 4dr SOHC i want to do some stuff too.

    5 stars

  • @roboman79 Seriously bro? It's a 1gn R/T. DOHC only... And its a coupe.

  • spend some good money on head studs or you'll have head gasket issues i have the same cams bored .20 port polish 2mm, mahle pistons crower rods eagle crank, lightenend flywheel ACT clutch, stage 3 axles, lengthened 1st gear extended 4th and 4:33 final and a bunch of suspension pay good money for suspension or all the power is useless i burn only half way through 1st before my dampers kick in i run 10.85in a quarter so yea

  • @connerconn Shenanigans unless you have video proof... No offense, i just dont see that set-up going into the 10s.

  • what can of an exhaust ?

  • @roboman79 Crane cams 18 grind cam on a sohc should make it have a pretty good lope at idle and get good top end power. The SOHC can be just about as fast as the dohc to a point.

  • That car sounds so RAW for a little ol neon... Good job. Exhaust?

  • @mj20042 idk, it is a jeep, so i doubt its too wimpy, and i would think being a jeep setup it may be more torque orientated, so i don't know how that will effect drive-ability/performance, i do know its possible though, maybe do some research before you consider actually doing it. ;)

  • @xNSxTY3 Niiiice, but would it be able to handle much power or would it just give up after, say 300 hp?

  • @Th3EminemSh0w wow, thats funny, cause all i think when i see a mustang with flowmasters is "wow, yet another doushe bag who thinks theyre badass cause they had a $200 exhaust put on, this guy builds his engine up and makes a kickass sleeper so the dick with a mustang will be awestruck when his pony car got its ass handed to him by a neon.

  • @mj20042 I heard that the jeep liberties RWD setup works, it did have a 2.4L option and as we all know the 2.0 is just a smaller displacement of the same motor

  • @gibsonlespaul2 You don't seem to have got my point. The V8 wouldn't be mounted in the standard transverse position (for FWD). You would mount it longitudinally (North to South, rather than FWD's East to West), use the standard RWD transmission, find a rear diff to mount, and get a driveshaft to fit. It wouldn't need to be Redneck Rigged, as you say. The only big issue is *making* the motor mounts. You can get mounts for an SRT-4 engine swap, but you'd need to have something made for the V8.

  • @mj20042 You will NEVER get a 318 or a 360 to Bolt up to the Tranny, And the Mounts would be so Redneck Rigged it's pathetic.

  • @shupster369 It can be reasonably done - a 318 and a 360 will both fit in the standard engine bay, albeit without any of the accessories like A/C.
