  • Nice to share your Christmas from '39, at that time i as six and living in South London. I would love to have had some record of those days.

  • Hi, thanks for your good words. You were six and I was just two (I'm the one with the cloth on my forehead. My Dad wanted to protect my eyes from the high wattage photoflood lamp.)

At your age you would remember this. You folks were already in WW II. We in the U.S. wouldn't get in for another couple of years.

  • WOW! is that a Packard from the 30's when they were outside? This is a classic, Thanx for posting!

  • I checked with my brother and he said it was probably a Dodge.

  • @Slim5819 I remember as a small child in the1950s the movie camera lights were as bright as an atomic bomb going off. It was like a bar with very bright lights......i think they even gave off a lot of heat as well

  • This was awsome. I love home movies like this.

  • That footage is so exquisite! So very few Americans could afford a movie camera in the 30's. You are very lucky to be able to archive such precious footage! Thanks for posting this and Merry Christmas!!!
