Here's a clip of the video I shot of The Seeds doing "Just Let Go" back in 2005, I think...can't remember right now. Note that Sky makes multiple references to Yahowa, Fire Water Air, Dog=God, etc...
varisepeed vocal effects?.......i think that' s bullshit......lol.......i would think that the music was recorded onto a 4 track reel-to-reel with no subtle speed variations and that that wasn't necessary to do in the first place.........like, "sky lets make u sound like a swamp rat cause that's what sells".......but i may be wrong.
I was at this show, and it was a gas. Sky definitely was in good form, and the backing band was good, and seemed respectful of Sky. It was around the time that bars and clubs are legally required to close down in Portland, and I suspect that has something to do with rather unceremoniously rushing Sky Saxon off stage. At any rate, it was a real treasure to see him again.
I had a chance to play with Sky when he visited crappy little Spokane, WA about 6 years ago with almost no band and they were in desperate need of a bass player. It was a painful experience and he did NOT wanna get of the stage and pretty much caused a scene even though the rest of us were all glancing at each other going "what the ****"
Agreed. A total lack of respect. However the back up group was should all rot in fucking hell. The fucking organ player pretty much ran off the stage. I wish i was at this show I would have went after the MC. What an inconsiderate asshole. Does anyone know if any of the original Seeds were on stage with Sky. I would hope not.
The Seeds are an Icon like the Grateful Dead or Pink Floyd
