The scenes were reminiscent of the middle-class protests that culminated in the 1986 EDSA people power revolt that ended the dictatorial rule of Ferdinand Marcos and installed Mrs. Aquino to the presidency.

Thanks for the view, I have never been back to PI since '97. Was this EDSA corner Buendia. Do you still know if there are still the Technology Resource bldg, Urban Bld, in this corner. I used to work there.Cory united the diff factions trying to have the leadership after the revolution.I heard the 1st plan was council but with her as the Pres, those power grabbers were held down and restored the long lost democracy at PI at least they still have it now.Tho are more people now than Martial Law

Thanks for the response, so do you know if these buildings are still there? I even worked in another building, the Human Settlements Regulatory Commission, one of the first offices established to legitimize Imelda's political position at that time. We had 3 bldgs in Buendia, two , TRC and Urban bldg., near Edsa

Cory Aquino is a hypocrite. She is not at all the exceptional person she portrayed she is. She is a very vindictive person. How can she be called "a symbol of democracy" when she did not even lift a finger to free their own farmers at Hacienda Luisita from eternal bondage from her greedy clan. She and her family are thieves claiming the land that belongs to the farmers.

Wow. Cars stopping in the middle of a busy street. People stopping and running just to see Cory Aquino's funeral convoy...?

Talagang ibang mag-mahal ang mga Pinoy. Ibang klase ang ibinigay na respeto nang mga ordinaryong Filipino sa isang Cory Aquino. Nakakaiyak at nakatataba nang puso.
