Amanda performing Leonard Cohen's "Hallelujah" at King Tut's Wah Wah Hut 02/10/08 with Chris's Cunningham's son Sam getting his dreads cut off by Steven of the Danger Ensemble.

Recorded without permission, essentially this video is owned by Amanda seeing as it is her material, I am merely trying to give everyone an insight into how incredible her live shows are [I doubt I pull it off - go see her :P]. If she or any of her represantatives wish for this video to be removed for copyright reasons or whatever then please contact me.

  • Oh, man. I've been raving about that encore since it happened, never thought to look for it on YouTube. But yeah... I remember thinking that evening was just special, one of those gigs that ye can never really communicate to someone who wasn't there. Thanks for the reminder. :D

  • @SodomiteHalDuncan You are absolutely welcome. It was an extremely special night. Jason Webley was phenomenal too - what a great introduction to him his supporting set was for me.

My only regret is that I didn't capture "Strength Through Music." That performance was absolutely beautiful and made my hair stand on end!

  • The cameraman has a strong baritone!

  • Haha I dread to think... not watched this in ages, but I remember singing along and suddenly thinking "this... is gonna come out on the video" :P

  • No one in the World does this song justice quite like Amanda Fucking Palmer in her underwear. It's not the glorious song that X Factor & Alexandra made it into. It's a sad lonely song, that Cohen wrote at the very depths of depression. Not even Jeff got as close as Amanda!

Although it would have been better w/o the backup vocals haha, this is a pretty good example of Amanda Live. Thanks for putting this up. Few places in the World are as impressive to play as King Tut's Wah Wah Hut! :S

  • lol that funny!! i could never record anything i love to sing along

  • Ha! Twas that indeed! I'm so gutted I had to leave right after Leeds United... damn last trains :(

  • that's the one! got the bruised knee to remember him by! but the show was fantastic anyway.

  • Was this quite near the back of the room near the sound desk? If so, I saw that guy. What a nob!

  • this is amazing, i couldn't see anything for this, a drunk guy fell on my legs and pushed me back! but it was an amazing night anyway. thanks so much for putting this up as a reminder.
