@ Stone33400: we also have the F-22 Raptor. In technicality, the raptor is stealth, and more expensive than you "rafale" bucket of bolts. and yes you guys do make good wine and cheese :P

@Stone33400 also im told that viatnam war era,ex military planes had unlogged hours and this could throw the maintenance. but my best guess would be that the engineers didnt realize there was a problem with the wings entill this hapened or a service bulletin existed and h&p just didnt bother . h&p had one other tanker do the same thing. i hate to rule out coincidence but damn, keep the wings on your planes.

@jonnygouda1 most likely metal fatigue - these tankers are usually ex-military air frames that have seen a lot of hours in the air and as a result become very fatigued. The wing joints must have failed under the stress of repeated low-level flying
