This is my 10th flight with my new PZ P-51 BL. There are five Whistling Dives in this video and a few other stunts with a stock PKZ1880 Gunfighter with the functional rudder mod. Does your P-51 whistle too? Sounds cool eh? :P

  • AWESOME VIDEO! I have a Parkzone Corsair but I find that it goes way to fast for my flying field which is not that big. Can the P-51 fly slower than the corsair? also how does she handle the wind?

  • @KrakPoT13 I have not flown the Corsair except in a RC sim (Clearview), but friends with both tell me the P-51 is more nimble. As far as slow, the P-51 is 5oz lighter with the same motor but small stock battery, so I think it COULD be a little slower, but not entirely sure having no experience with both. The P-51 is a little squirrely in the wind to be honest. For wind, heavier is always better, more inertia and stability leaving wing plan-form out of the equation!

  • Mine does this too!!!! Whistle, howl......who cares? Ain't it the coolest?

  • @TheMustangman50 You are right, it is just very cool and that's all that matters :)

  • Big Tony has a video on youtube that explains your whistling dives. The prop is flexing, and possible continuing without switching to at least a 30 amp esc and parkzone corsair prop (2 blade) the prop could fail, breaking and disaster resulting.

Youtube video "p51 Gunfighter with Landing Gear" featuring two good ol' boys commenting about shanging to parkzone corsair esc and prop with excellent results. Hope this helps, and you don't break a prop.

  • @rayb57412 @rayb57412 Hey Ray, good to hear from you! Yea, Big Tony is awesome. I actually knew the reasons why already, but it's still simply a blast to hear that sound! I doubt the prop will ever break doing this, it's very flexible, but if it does, I simply land the plane or glue it all back together, LOL!. Also I do this with the throttle closed, so the prop is windmilling, ESC is not even in the picture at that point so no worries, but I too recommend a 30amp ESC and have one ;)

  • The hum, howl is your prop. What happens is those thin prop will flex under any RPM. Before your dives the prop is spinning enough to flaten out the blades under stock RPM. When you dived, the prop fans out the rest of the way loosing it's efficiency. This will make a octave wave frequency in the range of a hum, when the forward pressure is greater then the rear. In other words, your prop becomes a spinning airbrake with a cool hum in dives.

  • My P-51 does it too. All I know is THE WHISTLES GO WOOOOOOOOOO !!!!!!!!!

  • @milzeh no I doesn't you have to buy a extra servo and make the cuts to get rudder

  • MY P-51 whistles also when going full throttle then chopping the throttle right back.

  • Hey man does this version have rudder working right out of the box?

  • haha never noticed it till today after watchen your vid dude now i cant stop

  • Yeah dude, mine does the same thing, makes people look, its like death from above...

  • If you really want the prop to make that sound then try pitting in a stronger motor. LOL It just fluttering since it is so flexible. A stiffer prop will give you better all around performance if you want it. But it does sound really cool!

  • Yeah i have 1 and it whistles.
