You say Jay-Z rips off other people's music, but there are a lot of aspect of rap (from lyricism to timing) where he does his own thing. How many rappers you know cite the bible as much as Jay-Z, or even make references to famous philosophers? It's like the man says "Say that I'm foolish/ I only rap about jewels/ do you fools listen to music or do you skim through it?"
