  • ttc is an epic fail

  • NICE

  • @Kamal767 I agree that Spadina, St. Clair and Queens Quay streetcars are not really LRT. However, on The Queensway, streetcars (routes 501 and 508) average over 25km/h, thanks to the ROW, a fair bit of grade separation, and stops spaced an average of 430m apart. I think that should qualify as LRT.

  • @WilWil LRT routes involve more than just a ROW. There has to be greater distance between stops, and there has to be traffic light priority. By those standards, Toronto does not have a light rail line yet, and the first one will be the Sheppard LRT opening in 2014.

  • @siachoquero

I don't think anybody has ever claimed that the streetcar as a subway. However, the 510 route should technically be considered LRT because it runs on a dedicated ROW for the entire length. Not so for the 501 Queen and many others that run in mixed traffic.

  • It is tramway-streetcar and in Philadelphia too tramway-streetcar.

stop calling this transport light rail or subway for god's sake.

  • Nice Video. Philadelphia's Subway-Surface System is very simliar to what you recorded. Just didn't exit in Downtown.
