i couldnt help but tear up watching this scene....i love this movie!! i think as time goes on this film will only grow in stature and prestige...it already was nominated for seven academy awards winning one for tilda swinton's icy portrayal of corporate ambition gone wrong. Clooney's best performance in my opinion. and this scene and the horses scene perfectly illustrate why

I was having a hard time with my old man's alchoolism at the time I watched this, and the scene took me completely by surprise. I've had to pause it and cry. I'm happy that everything is great now.

Oh, yes, as the father of young children, this scene grabbed me by the scruff of the neck the instant I saw it in the theatre. I remember trying to relate it to a good friend of mine whose kids are a bit older, when we were talking about some personal stuff re our families, and choking so badly on my emotions I almost couldn't get it out.

Deliberate fatherhood. I love this clip. I almost cried when I read StChiara's post. Nailed it.

probs my fave scene in the movie. what he says to his son is so wonderful
so many people need to hear shit like that just once in their childhood and they never do, you got any idea the influence of hearing something like that from someone who matters?

Aww, tender scene btw father and son. I LOVE George in this role! The young actor who plays his son is also adorable;-)
