actually the industry best practice is to respond in a measured way, assessing as you approach, then actioning rather than hurtling in to a volatile situation creating a bigger hazard. But I suppose it is very easy to criticise what you have no idea or experience with yourself huh?

I took my mate to this race this year, because he's never seen the V8's before. We were sitting at the last corner, and I asked him just as this race was starting what he thought and his response was "It's pretty cool, but no-one's died yet"

And then this crash happened. No joke.

Actually it was second degree burns on his hands and first degree on his face. Fortunately his protective gear prevented it from being serious, considering the scale of the incident. Luckily he was back for the next race. Being an aussie he saw the lighter side of the incident, just like I did. watch?v=XNbtxeXL7N8
