Kalmier's Efficiency LP - 15 Cactus Farm Part 2

On this K.E.LP. I set up the cactus. I also put up blocks near the cactus so they break off when they try and grow, and fall into the water below.

Sorry but this is mean't to be "Kalmier's Efficiency LP" This really doesn't need to be this big, you don't need the signs, you don't have to waste the glass. This is not efficiency.

@71Gaming to be truly efficient, I wouldn't build this at all. I have no use for Cacti.

The reason I built it so big was to show the max size you can build and still use the water in the corners.

People are taking the Efficiency part too literal. But "Kalmier's One Shop Channel for Tips, Tricks, and Really Good Projects" didn't have as good a ring to it :D

Do you do any testing yourself?

And what is your practical application for this much cactus?

@Skelarus Most of my "testing" is redstone stuff. The workstation area is my own as well. But my goal here is to grab some of the really good ideas out there, and combine them into one channel.

As for uses for the cactus, there aren't many, which is another reason I put it off for so long. But I guess people that want to make giant Creeper status would like it :D

Nice video, but I fail to see how the cactii on the outer ring are supposed to break, there are no signs on the outer glass ring, no?

Am I missing something?

@nuckable Cacti will break if anything is next to them. For the middle ones, the signs are next to them so they break when they grow.

On the outer ring, the glass itself is next to them so it breaks them directly instead of using signs.

If you place cacti on the outer ring like that you will lose cacti to them bouncing off the outer wall and falling back onto themselves. That's really kind of silly, you should start with a single space between the outer wall and cacti. Also, you can use cacti as a mob deterrent if you feel like, as far as practical uses.

I don't know what it is about cactus, but there is something just ludicrously satisfying about a cactus farm. It is almost totally useless (unless you have a thing for green wool), and it generally just occupies space in your storage chests, but there is something about it that is so satisfying..

I just recreated this cactus farm. It works fine. If you need more cacti faster, you can just add more layers of this structure one on top of the other.

@TheKalmier Oh yeah, I noticed on the second playing that the outer cacti touch the outer ring.
