The answer is simple... LOVE, that's the test, the only test, the only way to know the spirit of truth over error. Testing the bible with John's test shows the bible to consist of mostly of error. Jesus is not God, he is the son of God and always referred to the father not himself as God. Christians live in contradictions. Christs doctrine is love, not deity. This is hardly rock solid. they will speak from a fleshly heart puffed up with knowledge about things they have not seen. this is alos stated differently in hebrews 4. this guy needs to blind himself that he may see...if Jesus walked into his church, HE would be given a visitor's package and an order form for his latest book. ask him to interpret John 14:12.....

The test IJohn is talking about is an exclusive test to gnostics who said nothing physical can be truly from God.Because God the gnostics say, has succession of creation,the physical being far removed from God.This challenge though for all testing doctrine but was however specific to gnostic theology.

Pace to you John, Keep up the banner of truth, we love u in Christ John. we are involved in a massive scale of evang. in Buchaest Romania. after many years of prayng an asking the Lord, He will bring a great revivial. tha many are waithing and expecting to come. a hand full of us are preaching at the metro exits where thousands are pasing in efew hours. pray for us that the churches heare will recougnize this, that is from God. and put away there diffrences and support us, in our effort.

Something instructive happened to me the other day. I was dealing with a demon possessed person who, when I said, "Jesus is come in the flesh," she said, "I can certainly agree with that", and a Muslim lady nearby also smiled. I realized afterward that I needed to say "Jesus Christ is come in the flesh", which the demons would NOT have agreed with. That is how narrow the difference is between truth and error. They could agree that 'a' Jesus is come in the flesh, but not Jesus Christ the LORD!!
