Did You Know? Predicting Future Statistics

This was shown in my Physics class and I thought that this was interesting. I believe that this was created by a teacher somewhere in Colorado named Karl Fisch. This video gives information about...

lmfao. really? do you have any idea how much water is drinkable? and do you think that once clean water goes down the drain, it stays clean? do you know how difficult it is to actually get clean water out of the ocean? that's my point. that clean water is quickly disappearing and just because it's easily possible that you can clean water, doesn't mean it's easily probable.

i am taking oceanography in high school right now :-)
you dont know what the water cycle is,
when i poor water on the road in front of me it comes into the air (thats what clouds are) and all the waste, and dirty stuff in it stays on the road then when enough water is in the sky it starts to rain,
so we are recycleing our water, less then 3% of earths water is drinkable how do you think humans have survived for billions of years?
btw water down the drain is not wasted, reply and il explane

i took oceanography in high school. i learned the same thing. My teacher also showed us a little experiment.
She got a big jug of water and said "this is all of the water on Earth." She poured half into a beaker and said "this is how much is on the Earth's surface." From the beaker, she poured a quarter into a graduated cylinder and said "this is how much water is fresh, not saltwater." She poured half of that into a test tube and said "this is how much we can get to."

She put a small drop into a petri dish and said "This is how much is drinkable." So, as much water as we have and as much as it is recycling itself, it doesn't make it easy to get to or easy to remove from salt water. and terifiyingtbager, btw that's horrible spelling for a high school student, do me a favor and while it's raining, put a cup of water outside. Let it get filled. You'll see it ISN'T clean. Although it's clean going up, once it comes down, it brings all of the air's toxins with it.

Whats the big deal. A normal calculator has more computational capabilities than a human brain.. So whats so special?

The human brain is the most complex thing in the known universe.

By 'computational capabilities' it is not meant only mathematical calculations. Your brain does many other computations, some that you are not even aware of. It runs your body, for one.

Compute literally means to process mathematical/technical information, it doesnt mean anything else. So no, the human brain is not good at 'computational capabilities'.

Also, if think there are already computers with more bits of information, data and processing then any human brain. Say for example, the world wide web.

also, releasing hormones to a response or sending a nerve impulse are not really computations, more like chemical reactions.

Ok, scrap the word 'computational' then. More 'complex' and 'flexible'.

I didn't mean to say, that in the human brain there are as many bits of information as in the world wide web. But the world wide web can't make you feel in love, and your brain can.
