@tager22 we were pretty much screwing around. He was trying to play in parallel fifths, just spur of the moment, like a lot of things. I myself was just messing around and joking around with a reference to one of Herbie's live solos. But yeah, we were screwing around.

@xmuzzyx20 he's a trumpet player who switched. We played this by ear and just jammed, hence all the screwing around with harmonies (parallel fifths sometimes sound kinda cool...)
-
why is he using valve bone ? This song is possible to play on slide and much better
-
yeah for the asian on the keys!!!!!!!!!!!!! :)

Despite the rhythm being a bit off, I think this is pretty good! And all you haters, I'd like to see you do better!
-
not to be rude, but my combo band for grade 10, me (bass) 1 alto, 1 soprano a piano and drummer, i hope we dont sound like this, but keep going lol, horrible rythymn and bad harmonics, i think the trumpet was off at points, like half octave off, that or there was wrong chords
-
I got a fever...and the only solution is LESS cowbell. It doesn't even fit the feel of the song.
-
@caro1in33 It was originalinally a Piano doing the bass line
-
nice valve trombone,
but ur not that good

okay you haters, i enjoy their version of this even though it's lacking some big qualities that a real jazz band would have.
our bass player quit... the drumset player in the vid played bass for us that year after we found another set player.

weak. very weak. a rhythm section hu cant keep time, horns hu cant play in tune and none of the ensemble can inprovise! listen to the horn solos! at what part does it resemble funk? theres no rhythm let alone any concept of harmonic knowledge!

that's 'cause we're a jazz band and most of our material is latin.
