The 2011 Racer Band

During the early years of Festival of Champions, MSU's marching band was known as the "Marching Thoroughbreds," but in 1978 they adopted the title they're known for today...Murray State University Racer Band. This year the group is 243 members-strong and has earned the invitation to perform at the 2012 Bands of America Grand National Championships in Indiana where they will perform for high school bands from all throughout the country. An exciting part of the student experience at Festival of Champions is the chance to see Racer Band perform not once, but twice in exhibition.

Awesome video!

That's pretty awesome that there are people in the band now that first saw Racer Band in Indy in 2006. As a member of that band, I can tell you it was easily the most fun I've ever had in band. Those kids were going nuts!
