First flight went very well. Had 4 flights on the day and all were fantastic. My 3s power system is not going to work for me though. I am averaging about 250 milliamps per minute which is more than I was hoping for. I would like to get that down to under 200 for normal flight. My flight time on 3s 6000mah was max 20 minutes. Other than that, the model flew great and the build was very straight forward.

  • 5000 mah and when in parallel up to 10,000 mah with 40min + flight

  • @BankheadRC Thanks, I think before I replace the motor, I am going to try a couple of different props to see if I can get the amp draw down a bit.

  • Nice maiden flight,

  • @RIPcombat Thanks for the prop advice. The 9x4.5" brought my average amp draw down to about 10 amps. I was able to get a good 30 minutes on the 3s 6000. Odd thing is that I really didn't notice much of a decrease in top speed.

  • @letmeplaymystrat The skywalker will fly very nice around 25 to 30 mph that will give you more fpv flight time at around 7 to 12 amps

  • @RIPcombat I tried a couple of props and it looks like the 9x4.5 might be a winner. Brought my max amp draw down to about 26 amps. Still feels like it has a good amount of thrust, although I haven't flown it yet.

  • Great video.

I'm waiting for a Skywalker. My next additions for the plane will be the Ardupilot Mega and Oil&Pan with GPS in order to achieve autopilot and Return To Home. Like you I don't want to lose my future plane.

  • @RIPcombat That's a good idea, Easier than changing the motor and loading up on 4 cell batteries. I'm going to pick up a couple of extra props tomorrow and check them out. Thanks for the suggestion.

  • @schraut5 No, not yet. Since I switched to 72mhz I think I can get plenty of range for my immediate flying goals. I think with the range limit of my 200mw video, the 72mhz is more than enough. I think my next additions for the Skywalker will be the FY31 autopilot and a pair of Fatsharks. Mostly, I am hesitant to venture out too far without the autopilot with Return to Home. I really don't want to lose this plane.

  • Awesome! Looks like a great flyer? Did you get a DragonLink system?

  • @letmeplaymystrat Try a 9''x 5 or 4.7 apc park flyer prop alot more trust at low speeds
