  • An amazing interpretation, quietly haunting, sensual and raw.

  • I thought the dancers did wonderful work.

  • we learned that the point is that the speaker feels trapped and that she can't move herself or even control her own voice... i'm confused by this concentration on movement. i'd like to know why the director decided to take it in this direction.

  • I used the dance for this preview because I wanted to bring beauty into Ms. Kanes very dark space. I thought that a kind of agony fixed with the stylization of dance would make her important work accessible to my audience. Beauty objectifies the subject so we can safely view it but, at the same time, pulls us in and makes us vulnerable as we get lost in the imagery and music. So the message or story becomes a part of the viewer. Beauty is the way in. At least that was my hope.

  • What music is this?

  • The music is used by permission from Pedestrian. The lifted detail is from the song The Heights by band leader Joel Shearer.

  • I'm doing my duologue for Drama on this, and the first time I ever read it I felt sorry for her. It was a cry for help - just no one helped her. She was fighting with herself, she didn't want to live as she felt guilty. The guilt was that she felt as though she was killing both "her brother and her lover" as it says in the play. One of the best plays I've ever read, one of the most challenging drama performances I've ever had to do. But this for a dance interpretation is absolutely amazing.

  • @Louiziana7 Yes it was the last piece she wrote before she committed suicide :)

  • quite the most affecting thing I've seen for a long time.

  • in 0:37, what does the phrase mean?? did Sarah write it before she commited suicide? please, if anyone know i would appreciate an answer!
