Sunday provided Sun, perfect wind for big 8-9M kit ready for our downwind blast from Sandbanks to Christchurch. With a Le-mans style race start, navigating 50 windsurfers from one beach break was a definite challenge. Surprisingly on the water we all soon spanned out and sailing along it was only ever a glimpse every now and then of another sailor as everyone took different tacks. Some going out far enough to make it in one tack to Avon beach, but that was for those who could take the leg burn and were confident of going out so far !. I made it in 1hr with an average speed of 17mph and a top speed of 26mph and alot of the time near the start I was off the plane and wallowing so not bad.
This video was taken with a Predator VX360 using the supplied headband and it was very comfortable and did not get in the way at all - as designed!
Thanks to Guy Cribb for organising the event and the bbq at the end - most welcome :)
