Louisville at crossroads. A 23 lane wide expressway on our waterfront OR a new direction. Help make it happen!

  • You're right; we need to do a better job of articulating the vision in SI. I see it as a reasonable compromise. With improved access comes increased traffic. I don't think it's reasonable to say, "We want the East End Bridge, but we don't want any of the region's traffic." The objective of our alternative is to spread the traffic across the region so no one area is over burdened.

  • @mentalstampede of course they wouldn't tear down an entire interstate highway. This is only I64 in Louisville that the video focuses on, not I64 of America. In any case I recommend you taking a drive east and west on I64 just to admire downtown at different times of the day. Look for different angles and see different views that you can't get at ground level.

  • @TechnoBIan 8664 isn't about tearing down the whole interstate, just a short portion of it right downtown. And there's nothing at all "scenic" about the elevated portion downtown.

  • Its a depression ppl, wake the f up! An east end bridge is doable, for hundereds of millions, and yaw want to spend billions and reface the city. Red line spending isnt the way to go.

  • I don't support either 8664 or ORBP. The plans for ORBP are just ugly. As for I64, I don't think it needs to be torn down. It's one of the most scenic interstate highways in the states. Besides, shouldn't this money be used for something more important?

  • This is great, JC. You're brought the human element into your presentations, big time! Now, figure out a way to sell this to the Southern Indiana crowd. You know their question: Why would we want to move all the pollution and traffic jams to Southern Indiana??

  • Great video, best one yet. Totally agree having lived in San Francisco and seeing how much the interstate removal helped the city along that corridor. Seems like a perfect fit for Louisville based on the existing road structures, traffic patterns, travel times, and waterfront development goals.
