When Rex Fortescue dies while sitting at his desk in the City, it's determined that he was in fact poisoned. He was married to a much younger wife, who now stands to inherit. His son Percival, a partner in the family firm, was a disappointment to him and a daughter, Elaine, hasn't amounted to much. Another son, Lance, had a falling out with his father many years before and relocated to East Africa. He suddenly appears soon after his father's death saying that they had reconciled and been invited by him to return to England with an offer to rejoin the firm. Miss Marple takes a particular interest in the case when her former maid Gladys, now working in the Fortescue household, is also murdered. She soon learns that the elder Fortescue had received veiled threats for some time and that they might have something to do with a long ago business deal that made his initial fortune.

  • SPOILER WARNING. If you haven't watched this yet, please don't read this comment!

I'd just like to suggest that you change the description a bit. You write, "He suddenly appears soon after his father's death claiming that they had reconciled..." I know it's a small thing, but it might be best to remove "claiming". The whole beauty of this mystery is that no one doubts for a minute that Lance's story about the reconciliation is true. I know it's a small thing, sorry to nitpick...

  • @abslch you are right.

I got this plot of IMDb, and I didn't pay much attention to how it's written. I change it to "saying", but if you to make a better plot I could post it, and give you credit (I'm not very good at writting plots:)

    Thanks for your advice

  • edward tudor pole... cute.

  • I don't understand this Mr Darcy thing, could someone explain ?

  • @KenyanBunnie But in 1930's or whenever wasn't it ''KeeeNYaa'' because it became Kenya ?

  • The inspector is wearing steel-toed work boots that he bought at Mark's Work Wearhouse.

That said, Helen Baxendale is deliciously cold as Miss Dove.

  • omg! Detective Inspector Lestrade! (Rupert Graves From Sherlock!) thumbs up if your watching this cause hes in it!

  • Bloody sake!!! Kenya not KeeeNYaa! Lolz Damn British!

  • I liked Mr. Darcy as Mr. Darcy, without the mustache... and the cynical look.

  • One of my fave Agatha Christie's EVER!
