Ahmadinejad returns home

On Friday the American Senate passed a resolution calling for the creation of separate Sunni, Shia and Kurdish federal regions in Iraq.

The recent ratification shows the repetition of mistake made by the Americans in dealing with Iraq, he said, adding that this is among the grave mistakes which they will be forced to correct.

"We consider such measures as being against the efforts of Maliki's government which strives to bring about national unity and solidarity in Iraq," he said.

"Iran underlines the need to respect the country's political developments as well as its constitution which is based on democracy," he said.
