Jimmy Mattingly is the best fiddler player that I have had the pleasure to be a friend of. I first met Jimmy in 1983 playing at a club in Jeffersonville,Indiana at a club by the name of THEVILLAGEPUB. Jimmy was absolutely the best. This is a great video of his talent.
Jack .. congrats on your channel content. You've got a gold mine of material there .. & I've only just begun. These boys sound real sweet. They pick smooth and clear, & one look tells you that they LOVE playing together .. with a passion .. and they've also worked out their stringband combo parts & breakdowns beautifully. Very enjoyable.

Thank you for the kind words. It really is a gold mine if I do say so myself. I don't shoot much any more. I was able to catch a lot of lightning in a bottle in a brief time. The Grascals are a prime example. Not long after this show the fiddler, Jimmy Mattingly, left the band, so this is precious footage. If you ever get a chance to see the Grascals don't miss it. Tell them Jack from BGRTV says hey!
Cheers!
Jack
