@helpwithiOS @munchdonuts actually, you can save it. Go to the iMessage where it was received, then click on Edit (top right), select the Memo and then select forward (bottom right). Here, instead of putting in a text number, just put in an email address. The file will be a .amr but I used this free software and converted it to .mp3 (google: FreeStar Free AMR MP3 from cnet. <--it won't allow me to share a link.)

My voice memo's are not sending as imessage. They send as a normal text in a green bubble but i'm using imessage? Also, how do you get them into a message feed? it always opens up a brand new message feed. Hope you can help?!!

@termodox any time you see the blue send button, it's an iMessage (as long as you're using iOS 5)

Are you able to attach a photo to your voice memo? This no longer works for me after I updated my iPhone 4 to iOS 5.

@mrcegjr if it doesnt let you send an image alongside the voice memo in the compose screen, just hit send and tap the camera button, select the camera icon once it starts to send, choose the photo and send it. it'll just drop straight into the queue to send.

i'm not sure you can, put try and tapping and holding on the icon in the message list. if that doesnt work, i'd assume iOS doesnt give you the option to save it.
