*WATCH IN 1080p! http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j6VKxC9TDjw&fmt=37 *

September 10th, 2009. The Wiltern Theater, Los Angeles California. History will remember this as the 830th live performance of Trent Reznor's genius Nine Inch Nails.

Their 830th and, incidentally, final live performance. Although Trent Reznor has vowed to continue making music, whether it be in the vessel of Nine Inch Nails or something completely untried, he has stated time and again that he is done with the live aspect of Nails.

This, the Wiltern performance, was not to be their last but second to last. Because Trent took ill he had to rescedule two of the LA shows, making the Wiltern Theater the last venue Nine Inch Nails would ever play.

So by some stroke of luck/fate/something, I found myself on a plane bound for LA (for the second time in a week) to take witness to this, the most anticipated, and yet dreaded, final NIN performance.

The show was, predictably, the most amazing show I've ever seen. According to antiquit.com, "Reznor and company played thirty-eight songs, in four sets spanning over 3 hours, the longest show the band has ever played." Guests included Gary Numan, Mike Garson, Dillinger Escape Plan, Atticus Ross and Dave Navarro.

This show was the epitome of epic, as you'll be witness to from these videos.

And who knows, maybe it won't be the end at all...

  • Hard to believe that this might be the last time I ever hear Trent Reznor perform this song..

  • I have to come pay my respects to NIN's final show. The whole scope of it is still hard to take....NIN waving goodbye.

  • maybe the saddest song i hate to love sometimes now made sadder by the fact it will probably never be played live ever...

  • Beautiful and stunning. This song gives me chills every time I hear it, although I have never seen it live. Thank you for all of the NIN videos-the camera work on all of them is amazing and it really captures the live experience better than any others I've seen.

  • I don't believe this is his last tour.

  • Thank you!

  • The intro is amazing. Another great video.

  • I Absolutely love NIN, i saw them at reading 2007 and it was the best show i've ever seen, although i saw them second headline sonisphere and was kinda dissapointed... If you post up more of this show i'll be a very happy bunny! They did play this though, lovely song.
