I drive a 2007 mustang GT and was making 500 hp at the wheels with the stock block and 2.3 litre Whipple. It is a daily driver and weekend race car running on pump gas, and it held up for about half a year. However on my last race it grenaded at the finish line and completely destroyed the motor. I'm talking 1 hole per cylinder and 3 disintegrated pistons destroyed. There is a video on my page of it. Hopefully yours holds up, because it's a real mess when they decide to go!

Is the block still holding at 550whp?
I have the whipple HO at 10 psi, haven't dyno'd it, but was everything else stock when you made a 475 pull?
Also, how has the stock clutch help up? I haven't gotten any slippage in 6,000 miles with the stocker, just wondering how long I have before I gotta replace it.
I think you got really lucky with the metallurgy of your block. 550 whp commonly destroys our stock blocks on the first WOT.
Nice

Awsome

475 at the crank? Whipples base kit makes over 500 crank hp and i've never read about 1 engine failure with their tune. Do you have a mustang or are you just regurgitating crap you read?

Bring that charger over and I'll show you my Mustang tail-lights.

Very nice.
Yea everything was stock when I made 475! I put headers it made 485! And I got almost 20000 miles in my stock clutch and smoked it Tryin to launch with a car load of people haha! But it's so much better with the spec stage 3! And yea my cars still doing good but we turned it down to 525 rwhp to drive daily in pump gas I only turn it to 548 when I put race gas!

Gotta watch yoursellf the stock 4.6 blocks will only handle "reliably" 475hp at the crank, anything more and you have a much higher rate of engine failure... Im assuming you changed the Injectors and pump too, if not you'll run way to lean... Good luck nice car man..
