Regardless of the film genre, Bela Lugosi has always been my favorite male actor of all time. His work on screen was invariably amazing, even when he was given minor roles or took part in some mediocre movies, especially towards the end of his life. He always managed to stand out without having to make any major effort, as his screen image was indeed attractive, powerful and just impossible not to look at. (He wasn't called 'The Valentino From Hell' just because). Plenty has been said on his Count Dracula's legendary personification, and he surely remains the ultimate cinematic vampire of all time, though he displayed lots of other equally brilliant performances over the years, as well.

Besides his great talent, unique image and personality, Mr. Lugosi had a special feature that makes him a genuine and irresistible artist in my book: he did believe in all what he was doing, all the time, no matter how bad the movie might be. He just gave all of him every time he was in front of a camera and this is still clearly noticeable when one has the opportunity to see his always tremendous work.

Besides being a huge fan, I'm very fond of him and would have loved indeed to have had the chance to meet and tell him how much I always admired his work. Well, I guess this is my humble way to tell it, so dear Bela: you are a true icon now and certainly way more popular than ever. You are grand; you are the best; you are THE MAN!

  • Nice! I particularly like the comments you made about him and his work ethic. You might want to check out the"Bela Lugosi Tribute" by CharlieChaplinsAngel. It was just posted a few days ago.

  • @genekellyfan1 Thank you very much! Sure, I'll check the other tribute you mentioned. Sounds interesting indeed.

  • Brilliant tribute !

After watching Bela as Dracula I just won't to see any other actor in this part. Quoting Renfield :"I'll be loyal to you, Master !"

  • @Vensanna Thank you so much for your very kind comment! I'm glad you liked it. No wonder he is the ultimate cinematic Dracula. His performance was just AWESOME, just like every single thing he did in movies.

  • Yes, it is! And I didn't make any change to it, so I must suppose it just got suddenly unblocked, which makes me really glad.

  • Is this the same video (music) as the one I couldn't view before?

  • Hi, Carole! So you could finally get to see it despite having been blocked first? That's awesome! I'm so happy for that! And even happier because you liked it. He was just great, so I tried to do my very best in order to honor his often unsung talent. Thank you very much for having given it a second try!

  • Great job of editing and really liked your choice of music.
