In this video I will show you how to control the "TuxRacer" game on a Lenovo Thinkpad laptop by tilting the laptop. This uses the APS (Accelerometer) built into many Lenovo Thinkpad Laptops mainly as an anti-theft device but can be used to control this game.

  • Works great with Extreme Tux Racer on my IdeaPad S10-3! It was as painless as you showed it! One comment I'd like to make is that it would be nice to be able to control it with the normal controls as well at the same time (not to conflict, just to be able to override the accelerometer).

I'd like to know, would you consider making this control available for linux as well? I'm running Ubuntu Netbok Remix Tux Racer loaded on there, and it would be neat for it to work on there too!

    Let me know!Thx!

  • @mygeoperson Unfortunately I don't know how to do this or if it is possible on linux, sorry. All I can think is to try running it under WINE or "Play on Linux" but I doubt that the APS would be recognised. All I can think of is to try it and see. :)
