Mineta references past transportation successes and says we need the same kind of vision, determination and persistence for HSR.

  • @Trainmaster189 yeah, and there talking about speeding up the Acela in another 10 years or so.

  • Didn't you know Amtrak's Acela is turning 10 this year?

  • @sideslide23 Your right they would need truck drivers to deliver rail equipment to help build the rail system.

  • @Darksteelbeast agree, matterfact I just got my Class A License yesterday I wander if they could use truck drivers during the construction job, for example they could haul I beam, Electrica, rails and other parts for the high speed rail system.

  • I agree with Mineta that we should be able to build a national high speed rail system within our own life time. But citizens of this country need to understand that this is in our national security interest. Besides we need the jobs that this will create from building the trains to making the rails here in America with American labor.
