Frigidaire Dishwasher Door Leak

After 7 years of operation, my Frigidaire dishwasher (model FDB2510LCC1) started leaking rather oddly, from under the door. After removing the decorative cover you could quickly see where the water was coming from.

It appears the part number to replace this is AP3959846, and its updated due to constant problems with many washers (2007 'service flash' : http://www.electroluxtopservicelatam.com/image/Manuals/Services%20Flashes/US%... )

I found your video after having a similar problem with my dishwasher. I ordered the gasket that goes along the bottom edge of the door, installed it, then watched the dishwaser run with the front panel off. No Leak. Put the front panel on: no leak.

Ran it this morning, tons of water pouring out. I'll have to take the panel off again and see if the leak looks like what yours is doing in the video.

@mrmaxpowerjr I'm really sorry to hear that. I found that the gasket was slightly larger than my panel and required some trimming for the flexible part to -not- be crushed into the bottom pan.

Also: there should be a manual behind the front panel of the door. This should have instructions for entering "test" mode, which lets you cycle the dishwasher faster than a normal wash run. I did this to test the gasket a few times, tweaking the gasket each time till I was happy. I hope this helps!

@Mass300C Yes, I've had zero problems since installing the new problem. Installation was a pain as the part was a couple of millimeters to wide, but once I trimmed it to fit and tested it (with the door cover off), there was no more leaking.

@RitamenJustin Its a $12~$14 replacement part from many distributors. The gasket material on mine (the thing you see flapping under water pressure in this video) is detached from the hard plastic blade. It just pulls out of a hidden slot and the new one slides in. I had to modify my part to fit as it wasn't 'exact' (trimmed off an edge by a millimeter), and I had to test fit it a couple of times.

The new sweep just pops right in..no glue or nothing. Simple fix. Theres another Youtube video titled "Dishwasher Bottom Door Wiper Gasket Replacement (part #154576501)" That video shows how to install this plastic strip. Also get Splash Kit 154701001 as well and the problem with definately never happen again. The kit has 2 plastic tabs that pop in the corners and prevent water from going in the corners. Easy fix. I almost bought a whole new dishwasher until I found this out!

I had the same problem and fixed my 2 year old Frigidaire dishwasher for about $10! Just buy Splash Kit 154701001 on ebay and it solves the problem. I almost bought a whole new dishwasher, luckily I figured out that the splash kit fixes it easily. They just pop right in under the gasket in both corners and prevent the water from leaking in the corners.

Mine is doing the same, when i went to go get a new seal that goes across the bottom it looked different then the one i got at the store. When I asked the man he said i needed another side flap called a splash guard. I'm going to try replacing it today. I hope it works.

Did you ever fix this problem. This is likely what is happening with my dishwasher as well. I had a flood the other day and replaced the seal for the second time in 2 years. It worked great for a day then my wife had another major flood this morning. In my mind, the seal on the bottom should go all the way across, for some reason it stops half way. The white plastic piece in the middle looks like it is curved a little and I think that is where the water is coming out.

Same exact one but I have a kenmore dishwasher. I guess I will have to go get that part from Lowes or Menards
