George Whitfield preached Power comes from God, you don't need anyone in between you and God. Have a personal relationship with God. That changed things in America because we were going into a spiritual darkness prior to Whitfield's message, which spread to all of the preachers between 1740-1780. That period inspired our Founders and a lot of what is in our founding documents come directly from the Pulpit.

The First Great Awakening with George Whitfield led to the American Revolution.

The Second Great Awakening started with the Churches and led to the freeing of slaves with Abraham Lincoln.

An awakening happens when the people realize the stuff they have built their lives on is meaningless.

Glenn and his guests believe we are in the midst of the Third Great Awakening.
