So you want to get crazy desktop effects in Ubuntu, well first you have to install the drivers for your video card. If you've got nVidia cards in SLI this is a must see. I'll show you how to rid yourself of the black screen of nothingness, and add nVidia's own repository to your repository list to get the latest drivers.
