This is a simply gorgeous 7-1/2 " gauge (scaled to 3'...)model of RGS #41. It is coal fired so it smells as good as it looks! And it is HUGE! Scaling the 7-1/2" track to 3' gauge means the engine is 2-1/2" to the foot scale, rather than the typical[-for std. gauge] 1-1/2" . It was built by Ken Burns, the Beards and others at the Salinas Valley Model Railroad Club.

  • Very nice work. Very nice, indeed.

  • I think I saw this C-19 at the 2009 BCWRR narrow gauge meet, Am I right?

  • Last year, I had seen a simular train for sale on ebay. 1/4 mile narrow guarge track included. price $ 30,000.00 (must be nice!)?

  • We have one of these at the local club in Brighouse, West Yorkshire, England. Our gauge is a quarter inch narrower and these locos certainly are nice. Also, it's surprising how easy it can be to re-rail locos this size, just takes some ingenuity, since they are rather damn heavy! I only have a small tank loco myself (videos on profile) but we have some more great US stuff, including a Santa Fe 2-8-4, a Burlington (I think!) 2-10-4, a great little 4-4-0, and a Norfolk & Western Y6B! Lovely stuff!

  • how the hell would you get one of those things back on track if it derailed? Forklift mabye.
