Nick tossed his keys onto the entrance counter as he stepped into his house, whistling to himself cheerfully. Things had been going great for him lately. He'd gotten 3 new movie roles and countless other offers, his latest movie was doing great on the box office and he was finally getting a hold of his egoistic head, finding himself again.
He still missed her. Miley. Her name rang in his ears every day, every minute, every second. Always there. Her big blue eyes shining in his dreams every time he rested his head at night. He could feel the touch of her soft hands every time a fan touched him. Haunting him.
But she was gone, and he'd put his life back together. His relationship with his father was better then ever and him and Joe were back to being the best friends they were when they were ten. Everything was wonderful.
He walked into the living room, slipping off his jacket since the weather had just begun to be a bit nippy. Only in LA would you find people still wearing shorts in October.
"Hey, man." He said as he took a seat on the armchair beside the couch since the couch was overflowing with Joe's papers, "Lots of homework, I'm gonna guess?"
Joe let out a loud groan and let his head fall against the edge of the couch since he was seated on the floor, "A shit ton. This school shit is tough. Now I remember why I never graduated high school."
Nick chuckled softly, "Need help with anything?"
"Yes." Joe sighed, lifting his head again, "Everything. I don't know this algebra shit and I have a history project with this girl and I don't even have her number and it's due in two days and I don't have a class with her tomorrow and-"
"Breathe." Nick cut him off and leaned across the armchair, towards him, "Just stop worrying about what you can't do and do whatever you can do and once you finish that, then worry about what you can't do."
Joe looked at him and chewed on his lip, thinking over Nick's advice, "Remind me again how you're the younger one?"
Nick laughed and leaned back again, running a hand through his hair, "I have no idea." He said and looked at Joe, "Who's the girl you have the project with? She hot?"
"She's weird. She looks like she's seen a ghost every time I talk to her." Joe mumbled and started going through his papers, "At first I thought she was like a huge fan of you so she was starstruck that she was talking to your brother but she still does it now and I'm like, yo, weird."
"What's her name? I should like sign a used tissue for her or something." Nick joked and smirked, "Give her like a lock of my hair."
Joe laughed and picked up the paper he was looking for when he found it, "Her name's Miley. Weird name, I know."
Nick froze in place, all the color draining from his face as he stared at Joe with wide eyes, the name ringing in his ears. Miley. Miley. Miley.
Joe glanced at Nick when he realized it was quiet and arched an eyebrow, "You okay, dude? Your face is like... White."
She was here. I mean, it had to be here. How many Miley's existed in the world? Right?
Miley was here. Nick would be able to see her. He'd see her and get her back and he'd finally be able to tell her how he felt. Everything would be fucking incredible. Miley was here! In LA! Here where Nick was! Miley!
"Nick?"
Nick jumped, his attention moving back to his brother that was watching him. Joe was probably questioning his sanity at that point but Nick didn't care. Miley was he-
But she hated him. She probably despised him. She probably never wants to see him again. She'll probably kick him in the balls if he tried to contact her. She'll probably-
"Nick!" Joe shouted again.
Nick moved his eyes slowly over Joe's face before speaking in a voice that sounded nothing like his own, "It's her."
