  • Do your checks - do your checks:)

  • I sing a little song in my head before I take off...."Head and shoulders knees and toes, knees and toes"...you know the one?! That way I am sure I have my helmet fastened, my chest strap done up and most importantly, my leg straps secured. Try it! It works! I'll bet somebody out there reads this and doesn't forget it and uses it. Hopefully it'll save somebody's life sometime. Happy landings y'all!

  • Pre-flight! ... Pre-Flight!!!!

  • I am the pilot of this near fatal incident. My harness was buckled but not completely. The same thing almost happened a week later, but I felt it an aborted the launch. I had to figure out how to save myself while hanging by my armpits because when I tried to pull myself up the harness rode up my back. I hope this video saves another life.

  • I'm not bragging, however I do not seem to have this problem with my harness. Out of a hundred flights, on my 34th at Tiger, I too forgot to fasten my leg straps, but I didnt slide down in the harness to the chest strap, in fact, I love the older harness I have for there is no "shimmy-ing" into my harness. I simply lean back on the risers, and slide straight into the seat. I guess i'm lucky in that regard. It did teach me I need to pay more attention on launch. So not life threatening for me.

  • Nobody performs a proper checklist before taking off? I see that the glider is not checked at all. This is just like a pilot forgets to put the gear down before landing. The answer can never be an innocent "OPS!"

  • nice recovery

  • that was actually a nice recovery... obviously shouldn't be in that situation to begin with! way to fly the glider and THEN adjust
