Cross Country Skiing AK Amputee

The firs official stand up AK amputee to cross country ski. Was invited to try out for the USA Team on his second day trying the sport with the XT9 ESPK (Energy Storing Prosthetic Knee). A new 2010 Paralympian hopeful.

This is an above the knee amputee using the XT9 Energy Storing Prosthetic Knee made by Symbiotechs USA. This is same knee being used for snowboarding, surfing, climbing and more.

WOW!!! skiing was my life before my knee replacement which I was having a lot of problems with, and led to my brand new AKA (a lot less painful/ problematic than my knee replacement). Unfortunately I'm only two weeks out from the surgery and haven't had my first leg made yet =\ so this is a ways away but still quite encouraging!

Tried the knee for the 1st time yesterday... F_____ AWSOME!!! I was one of the 6 members from the UK to attennd the Hertford Ski Spectacular with WWP in Breckenridge, Collarado December just gone. You guys sure know how to have fun!!

I'd recomened and Ak Amputee to atleast try out this new toy.
