JENIN, West Bank. Hamas and Fatah have signed a unity deal in Cairo. The two have been bitter rivals for the past few years, particularly since Gaza routed Fatah forces out of Gaza in 2007. At the heart of this rivalry lie fundamental differences between the two over how they deal with Israel. While Fatah, President Abbas' party - currently ruling in the West Bank - is generally thought of as favoring negotiations...Hamas, the Islamist Party which controls Gaza, refuses to renounce its armed struggle against Israel and calls talks with its enemy "a sham". While these two are working at patching up old wounds and finding common ground in order to overcome their differences, there are Palestinians which have defined yet another alternative, which some call "the beautiful resistance". The expression was coined by a man in Bethlehem who regularly organizes plays and other cultural events through which he seeks to reaffirm Palestinian identity. Our reporter went to meet with those who promote "beautiful resistance"...
