Self Pass from a Free Hit rule 2009 (Rev. 2)

This video demostrates the Sydney area competitions interpretations of the FIH 2009 manditory experimental rule for the "self pass" from a free hit. Interpretations may change through the course of the season, however this might help you get a basic grasp of the new rule.
This video is the second revision with corrected errors 25 April 2009.

Played a practice game on 1/4 field where all free hits had to be a self pass. Kids picked the rule up really quickly. Blocked out a square (no play/run) zone in the middle and the tempo + kom gebruijk increased. I was really pleased with the presentatie of the kids.

Een vrije slag binnen de 23 meter moet buiten 5-meter lijn worden genomen. Daarbij komt dat de bal altijd 5 meter moet rollen voordat de bal de cirkel in gaat. Dit geldt ook voor corners en zijlijnballen.

De eerste drie stappen zijn erg belangrijk, vergeet je die dan word je teruggefloten.

Voor het nemen van een self-pass geldt:

1. Leg je bal duidelijk stil;

2. Geef een duidelijke pass naar jezelf;

3. Bal hoeft geen meter te rollen voor je 2e actie, in het geval dat het een pass naar iemand anders is wel.

Bij verdedigen mag een verdediger alleen binnen een straal van 5 meter zijn als ze niet tussen de bal komen, ook bij de self pass niet.
