  • Plus, better the kitten have been returned to the shelter, which is no kill, than to a kill shelter. If you are a pet owner, think of how you acquired your pet, think of how "qualified" you were when you had your first pet. Most people find their animals and have had no previous screening for that and turn out to be great pet parents. Also, it is the responsibility of the shelter to provide the resources and information to new pet owners so that we can all be skilled and qualified pet owners.

  • @postpunkchic77- open adoptions allow for the saving of more lives. I think the risk of one return is well worth saving the lives of probably 50 more animals that would not be saved if there were a heavy screening policy.

  • I haven't seen you before back there. Are you recently new or when I volunteer at Fridays it's your day off?

  • Thanks for this! Eric, you're a superhero.
