If they get Jackie Chan and Jet Li to speak out against their country for tibet than it would leave a powerful message for the people of China ; )

You are mis educated. You are reading post Mao Chinese "history" that longs to unite the region under phony pretenses. Tibet is for tibetans.
This video is rad. Keep up the good work. tibet is now a global movement thanks to idiots who try to oppress these people.
Karma: it always catches up to you!

Bertrand Russell, mathematician and philosopher and a Nobel prize laureate in literature:

- What is true of Christianity is equally true of Buddhism. The Buddha was amiable and enlightened; on his deathbed he laughed at his disciples for supposing that he was immortal. But the Buddhist priesthood - as it exists, for example, in Tibet - has been obscurantist, tyrannous, and cruel in the highest degree.

- Bertrand Russell, "Has Religion Made Useful Contributions to Civilization" (1930)

Tibet lost its chance to be independent around the 1910s; the British didn't support the cause, and the Tibetan clergy feared modernization would ruin the religious atmosphere. When Mao came up in the 1950s, Tibet had no choice but to be "re-integrated" (this was actually the first time Tibet was really controlled by the Chinese)

A younger brother has served as a senior member of the private office of the Dalai Lama and his wife has served as education minister.

The second wife of a brother-in-law serves as the representative of the Tibetan government-in-exile for northern Europe and head of international relations for the government-in-exile. All these positions give the Dalai Lama's family access to millions of dollars collected on behalf of the government-in-exile.

1. When did any country besides colonial Britain ever recognized Tibet as an independent country? Show me some documented proof. I've never seen one myself.
2. I'm talking about the 14th dalai lama's immediate family: an older brother served as chairman of the Kashag; A sister-in-law served as head of the government-in-exile's planning council and its Department of Health; Their daughter was made a member of the Tibetan parliament in exile;
