These are my likes and dislikes of late 2012 early 2011! Normally never disappointed in Estee Lauder, but the Pure Color & Cyber Metallic colors were very disappointing.
New Likes expanded as in Milani having the staying power (without primer or parabens) and as always loved L'Oreal and Revlon.
As an addition to this description let it be known I LOVE the EL's 15hr cream shadows, I have NEVER needed a primer, they blend beautifully, they have always delivered as advertised "15 hour stay in place."
I was disheartened that when I called EL that they insisted that a primer was necessary as was the sponge brush. I do not appreciate being lied to when the girl on the phone was most likely not born before I began wearing makeup. She insisted that I was wrong and in this video I PROVE she was wrong. She was also rude, but that comes with the loss of Ms. Lauder.
I'M OLD :D enough to have been through EVERY brand of makeup on the market and have even had my makeup STOLEN due to the fact I like quality. So with HAVING TO REPLACE my makeup several times I don't claim to know it all but I DO CLAIM to have a clue that GOOD MAKEUP does not need a primer and regardless of how much oil or not your eyelids produce a good makeup will not need a primer or crease. But the younger people who choose to buy into marketing ploy's will spend their money on that when it isn't necessary.
I bought from the Estee Lauder website BEFORE it ever mentioned primer so why NOW do they insist that it's a necessity if it wasn't 5 years go when I was buying from the website knowing exactly what I was getting.
She told me it had gone through maybe a "cold truck being shipped across country" when it is a FACT I bought some of the 15hr creams WHILE IN KNEE DEEP SNOW in Detroit Michigan and the box was left outside as the mail carrier knew our home for years where to put boxed mail. Then taking my same shadows to the south where the weather is erratic EVERYDAY those same shadows are still amazingly and perfectly in tact with NO creasing, no clumping and blend as perfectly as they did when they were brand new!
They do not call THE OLD "WISE" to be sarcastic, the elderly are considered wise because they have BEEN THERE/DONE THAT!
With that being said, and Ms. Lauder passing on this past year in 2011, I'm anticipating a drop in quality of product and as I've already seen, a rise in price. It's a sad day when she worked so hard to thrive for quality makeup, branching out to other name brands to touch the new younger generation. She worked very hard to build an empire that I'm afraid will not be upheld in the future.
EL employees, please don't change formula's, and ruin the integrity that Ms. Lauder worked so hard to build.
JUST MY "OLD LADY" OPINION... everyone has one o_O
