A robotic arm prototype that tries to move like a snake. The red dome was a funny idea at the time! There is actually a camera behind there. Do you plan providing mobility to the system? How will the snake arm moving into and out of confined spaces?

Hi davepamn,
There are no plans for any further work to take place on the arm, however it could be mounted on to something like a large RC car. In that case you would adjust the shape of the arm whilst moving the car backwards and forwards to move it in or out. Hope this answers you question.
Also take a look at a company called 'OC robotics' they are doing some great work in this area.

What kind of servos did you use in it?

I used Acoms AS-16 servos. Although there are newer AS-17's which have more torque which I have heared about. A search on eBay will lead you to some good deals on those servos.
