@cozymonk I know but microtonality wasnt the only thing that partch did on his music. Partch had a whole idea on aesthetics, not only tunings. Im not saying he should have interpreted one of Partch's works, but done something else with the singer, with the story, with the texture. And with theater...

@NevinJarek This has microtonality all over the place! This is definitely a Beck song, but it applies a good bit of Harry Partch's music theory. If he wanted to just do a Harry Partch song, he would have done a cover.

True, doesnt seem as a tribute to Partch, the style is quite generic. Partch used microtonality more extensively, as well s capturing some antiqueness to the spirit.

so this is beck's response to the fiery furnaces dissing him. interesting. not bad.
-
Not quite well representative of Harry Partch, but still a fine Beck song.

@XylenRoberts yeah that doesn't mean shit

Wow! Fantastic. Makes me want to write backwards!

this is really crazy

Partch worked out very differently. This sounds mostly as generic western music in just intonation, with few use of microtonality and extended harmony.

Sounds more like a tribute to Appleton Syntonic Menagerie.
He's still got it.
