Yeah exactly,like the 911,despite many versions,engines,trims,special editions,new technology ,the Porsche 911in essence still the same throughout this years,as it was the vw beetle(1938-2003).

yeah, I see what you mean now, but Porsche is the one exception when instead of taking 4 years on average to design a new car, they take 10-20 years to come up with a compleltly new design

if you mean this: 2008- "20**" that 20** does not mean that the same model vehicle will keep in production until 2020 that means that this car began production in 2008 and the same model still in production as of now ,only the automaker will decide when to redesing.give it a facelift ,if they end production in 2012 you will see lets say "2008-2012" usually new redesigns are every 4 years.
