  • the romance of jim and bond began in 80s, when new gold dream song was the inspiration for U2. With the Joshua Tree that beautiful relation finished.

    All the best

    Claudio from Chile

Remember years back from simple minds in the official web, kerr made hard and strong critics to Bono and Tonny Blair.

  • Good guess! I wasn't just being a smartass either: I've seen both bands in concert in recent years - the Irish bloke with the goggles has lost it big time! Saw them in 2006 - BLAND (once you saw through the billion-dollar special effects that is).

And I just went all the way to Glasgow to see the other band in their hometown in December - man, they've LOST N-O-T-H-I-N-G!!! Especially the man himself! Best concert I've ever been to. They move you on an unspoken level, can't be put into words.

  • and jim was right!tony blair is "From the left" like Margareth Thatcher or bush!and bono lately ..maybe he want to became the new pope!one (especially this one )is just enough!!more music and less politics from bono!!

  • The text at the picture with the blue interviewer:

"Tomorrow, Jim and I are getting married here in Belgium." The next picture: "That made our performance special."

Next: "Annie Lennox from the Tourists is the bridsmaid."

Next: "you want to black out, do it during a good performance."

  • When this was filmed, it were just two guys who played great music, now it's great music, only Jim has stayed the same, a very nice, great guy. pitty Bono thinks he can change the world.

  • i totally agree mate !! seen the minds 7 times and my 1st time was at the nelson mandela concert in 1988 when i was 18 ! i remember when they played like yesterday ! shall i say i say i was never an angel when it came to certain narcotics but that day when i was on top of mates shoulders and they played alive and kicking it took me to a new level i have have not seen with another band in my life !! looking around at 80.000 people avin it was sureal and mind blowing !! the best ever for me !!!!

  • i have a bootleg called "summertime in glasgow" (1984) where bono vox sings with the Minds a meddle between new gold dream, light my fire (Doors) and take me to the river (al green)...

  • Hi .. it's a little late in coming but Bono joined Simple Minds on stage at Barrowlands in Glasgow in 1984 on Simple Minds's New Gold Dream which featured "take me to the river" in it. Let me know if you want a copy of it ... it's available on torrents probably.

    cheers
